- Photoshop Tutorials - Ice Blast Text Tutorial - By: FrozenToast

This tutorial will help you create Ice Blast Text effect in Photoshop.

- Step 1
1) Make a new image around 640x480 (can be as big or as small as you like, although the width needs to be longer than the height!)

2) Bucket the background black, and with some nice bold font (Impact size 72 for example) type in your chosen phrase or whatever. Select this and change it to white.

3) Right click the text layer and rasterize it.

4) Keeping the rasterized text layer selected in the layers palette, go to Filter > Distort > Polar Coordinates and select Polar to Rectangular from the options.

5) Once done, go to Filter > Stylize > Wind and choose Wind for the method and from the right for the direction.

6) Hit ctrl+f (command+f on the Mac) and repeat step 5 and change the direction to left. (Don't forget to hit ctrl+f again!)

7) Select Image > Rotate Canvas > 90 CW

8) Then, once again Filter > Stylize > Wind select Wind for the method and from the right for the direction.

9) Hit ctrl+f

10) Rotate the canvas back to its original state (90 CCW), and then go Filter > Distort > Polar Coordinates and select Rectangular to Polar.

Its starting to look good now =)

11) With the text tool, write out your phrase again in the same font/size but this time in black. Place it carefully over the image.

12) Add a new layer, just underneath that new text layer, bucket fill it with a nice blue, or whatever colour you fancy really. Over in the layers palette select that layers blending mode to color.
